Join us for the KOTA Debate and pre-debate rally tonight!

We’ve only got 9 days until the November 4th election, but that’s plenty of time to do your part and make a difference with today’s 43 Day Plan suggestions. And what are those suggestions, you ask?

Well, the first way to have an impact is pretty simple – Tell 5 friends about Chris Lien. That’s right, even though we are only 9 days away, that’s plenty of time for 5 of your friends to learn more about Chris and understand why he is the best choice to represent South Dakota’s voice in Congress.

Now, for those of you on the western side of the state looking to really make a difference tonight, encourage your friends and family to watch the KOTA Debate! The debate will be shown on KOTA at 6:30 MT, so prepare for a short, half-hour debate and see for yourself why Chris is worth your vote on November 4th.

**If you want to really kick it up a notch, join us outside KOTA (click here to see it on a map) at 5:30 p.m. for a pre-debate rally. We’ll be waving signs for Chris and showing our support before heading back to the Chris Lien campaign office (click here to see that on a map as well) to watch the debate. We’ll also have refreshments at the office, so if you can’t come to the pre-debate rally, come to the office around 6:20 p.m. to watch the debate there!

Can’t wait to see you this evening, and don’t forget to tell 5 friends about Chris Lien!

Only TEN days to show YOUR Chris Lien support!

Well, today’s 43 Day Plan post may be a little late, but after an almost six hour drive (due largely in part to the mighty winds that have been blowing across the state all day long), we’re here in Rapid City and I can finaly get some suggestions to you.

First of all, one idea we have for you is to forward a recent article about Chris Lien to 5 friends. You can find plenty of great news stories by clicking here and selecting one of the stories posted in our “News” section. Or, if you’d prefer a more direct route, click here to read an Argus Leader story about Chris, or click here to read the Forbes Online weigh-in on this year’s South Dakota Congressional race. Then, after you’ve had a chance to read a story or two, pass it along to 5 friends. Feel free to pass along the newest Chris Lien commercial and KELO debate video by clicking here and passing along the URL from the Campaign Blog.

In fact, watch the commercial right here, then feel free to click the link above and pass the URL along to folks:

Another suggestion is to update your Facebook or MySpace status to say “Under 10 days to vote for Chris Lien!” Election Day will be here before we know it, so show your support for Chris Lien and update those statuses (and you’re more than welcome to update them with a countdown everyday if you’d like).

So those are today’s 43 Day Plan suggestions, and let the people you send the articles and videos to see why Chris will be a great Congressman for South Dakota!

VIDEO UPDATE - Brand NEW Chris Lien commercial and KELO debate footage!

Folks, have we got some exciting things for you to check out! That’s right, we here at Chris Lien for Congress not only have the video footage from last night’s KELOLAND debate (where Chris had the opportunity to show why he is the right person to bring South Dakota solutions to Washington!), but we also have our NEWEST Chris Lien campaign commercial!

Both will be embedded below. First, we’ll start with the innovative campaign commercial that focuses on our unique billboard design (quite literally, in fact). Go ahead and watch it right here:

Now, we’ll embed the KELO Debate video for you to watch below (and if you’d rather watch it on KELO’s website, click here).

We encourage you to pass along both videos by forwarding the URL to this blog post, found here - http://twurl.nl/fautaj - to as many people as you can so they can see how great a candidate Chris is for the state’s lone U.S. House seat. With only 11 days until Election Day, it’s important to show your friends and family why Chris has the ability to fix a broken Congress with South Dakota solutions and values.

Hope you enjoy the videos, and let me know if you have any questions or comments on either the newest commercial or the debate by e-mailing mike@chrislienforcongress.com.

Only 11 days to go, no time to move slow!

Well everybody, we’re going to cut straight to the chase with today’s 43 Day Plan suggestions so we can get rolling on this Saturday afternoon.

First and foremost, if you didn’t have a chance to watch last night’s debate on KELO, I suggest you watch it right here and see how Chris Lien had the opportunity to show why he is the right person to bring South Dakota solutions to Washington! You can watch it at KELO Online by clicking here, and I’ll go ahead and embed the video below if you'd rather just watch it here:

And, after watching the debate, go ahead and take these suggestions for the 43 Day Plan into account.

First of all, one way to make a difference today is to wear your Lien Machine shirt. Show your support for Chris by wearing your Lien Machine tee wherever you go today. It's easy to do, and it will certainly have an impact on potential voters.

And while you’re wearing your Lien Machine shirt, go ahead and join us for a NEIGHBORHOOD BLITZ today! We’re starting off by meeting at 1:00 p.m. (sorry for the short notice) in front of the Joel Dykstra campaign office (click here to view a map) and we’ll be heading around the Sioux Falls area giving out yard signs, brochures, and information to anyone who wants to know more about Chris Lien.

If you can’t meet us at 1:00 but want to help later in the day, e-mail me your phone number at mike@chrislienforcongress.com and I will give you a call immediately and fill you in on where to meet us.

Of course, you’re always welcome to start up your own neighborhood blitz as well, so e-mail me for information on how to kick that off and I will help you in any way that I can.

So, watch the debate and enjoy this fine Saturday weather (in the Sioux Falls area, at least), and e-mail if there’s any way I can be of service to you. See you on the streets today!

It's a debate rally for Chris Lien and YOU are invited!

Well everybody, we hope the 43 Day Plan’s fifth Bulletin Board Blitz went well for you yesterday, but we’ve got big things going on today, and, with only 12 days until Election Day, we’ve gotta keep rolling along.

So, our suggestions for today are short and sweet. First of all, we encourage anyone and everyone to watch the KELO debate tonight at 7:00 p.m. CT / 6:00 p.m. MT. Check for your local KELOLAND station and tune in to watch Chris debate the issues against Congresswoman Herseth Sandlin, live.

*If you really want to help out, you can join us for a pre-debate rally around 6:00 p.m. in front of the KELO building on Phillips and 13th St. (to view a map, click here). We’ll be waving signs and showing our support for Chris Lien until a few minutes before the debate. We'll possibly be heading somewhere to watch the debate after the rally, so I'll have more details for you on that soon (feel free to e-mail me at mike@chrislienforcongress or call the Sioux Falls office at 605-271-8959 if you aren't able to check back on the blog and we will fill you in).

Another way to make a HUGE difference is to call ten undecided voters and encourage them to vote for Chris Lien. It may seem like a daunting task, but undecided voters are undecided for a reason, so giving them more details about Chris may just be the push that takes them from “undecided” to “voting for Chris Lien.” At minimum, directing them to www.chrislien.com would be a great way to have an impact on potential voters.

So that’s the plan for today. Debates, debate rallies, and undecided voters are a great way to spend a Friday, so do what you can to help out and you’ll make a difference for Chris Lien and for this campaign!

How YOU can lead a Bulletin Board Blitz...

Well folks, the days are winding down and we are going to amp our efforts and push even harder as we hit the last 13 days before Election Day. Of course, we’ll need your help to make it happen, so let’s get into how we can work together to make a difference.

First of all, we’ll ask you to utilize the most basic (and often most effective) way to have an impact – word of mouth. Simply tell 5 friends about Chris Lien. That’s it. Tell them why Chris will be a great Congressman, explain to them how his business background will make him a great leader, or simply tell them about how he’s a genuine, South Dakota values-driven individual.

While you’re telling 5 friends about Chris Lien, feel free to take part in today’s Summit Club suggestion by participating in Bulletin Board Blitz #5. How do you do a Bulletin Board Blitz? Easy. Just print off a few copies of this PDF - (click here) - and post them around your neighborhood or community in whichever public locations they can be posted. Whether it’s a bulletin board, a light pole, or a shop owner’s window (as long as they’re willing), seeing that poster just might spark an interest in someone that doesn’t know much about Chris.

So those are today’s suggestions, and I look forward to seeing the results of your efforts. Remember, I’m here to answer any questions you might have about any of the 43 Day Plan suggestions, so e-mail me at mike@chrislienforcongress.com if you need anything at all!

Good luck with the Bulletin Board Blitz and I can’t wait to see a Chris Lien poster or two while I travel around town today!

Big thanks to the USD College Republicans

We just wanted to give a big thanks to all of the College Republicans and other Chris Lien supporters who came to show their enthusiasm for Chris before last night’s SDPB debate in Vermillion. We’ve got a video from the event below and we appreciate everyone who stood around in the cold for half an hour waving Chris Lien signs and shouting after each car honk and beep. We definitely appreciate that and everything else you’ve done and will continue doing up until Election Day!

Thanks again!

ONLY 14 DAYS TO GO - How YOU can help with 2 weeks left...

Hopefully you all had a chance to watch the debate on South Dakota Public Broadcast last night (if you didn't, click here to watch it), but with only 14 days until Election Day, we don’t have too much time to sit and reflect on the past. Instead, we’re charging straight into the last two weeks of the campaign with today’s 43 Day Plan suggestions.

So what can you do to help today? Easy - Post a comment on this Campaign Blog sharing something you're doing to help Chris Lien win in November. This could be anything from putting up a Chris Lien sign in your yard to hosting a meet and greet sometime in the next two weeks. Even something as simple as telling a friend about Chris is worth posting on this blog, so jump on and share what you are doing to help Chris win in November. You can even leave your comment anonymously if you’d prefer it.

And if you’re looking for another way to help on this fine Wednesday morning (or not so fine if you’re in the Sioux Falls area today), you can make a big difference by handing out 20 Chris Lien brochures. Whether you're handing them out at your local coffee shop, passing them out at your office, or even going door to door and handing them out, you just may earn Chris 20 votes with your efforts. Plus, if you pass out brochures, you can tell us all about it by letting us know on the Campaign Blog (as I mentioned above).

So if you need any help (or expert brochure-handing advice), e-mail me at mike@chrislienforcongress.com and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. I'll also be pleased to provide my personal pointers for pamphlet-passing perfection.

Try not to let this weather keep you from handing out brochures (and more importantly, don't let it keep you from enjoying your day)!

Big ways YOU can help with 15 days to go!

If you haven’t yet heard, we’ve got a big day here at Chris Lien for Congress with the first of our three October debates taking place tonight on the South Dakota Public Broadcast network. And although Chris may have a full day before the debate tonight, we haven’t forgotten about the 43 Day Plan. If you’re looking to help the Chris Lien for Congress campaign today, here’s what you can do (remember - we're down to only 15 days until the election):

One of the most important things you can do for tonight is to encourage friends and family to watch the South Dakota Public Broadcasting debate tonight. If you’d like some more info on the debate, I’ll post it here:

The SDPB Debate will be shown on your area's local PBS channel at 8:00 p.m. CT (7:00 MT), and if you're not sure which channel that is, click here to find out. Also, they will be showing an encore broadcast on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. CT (Noon MT). And for those wanting to hear the debate but unable to watch, listen on SDPB Radio, Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) CT / 11 a.m. MT.

Along with the debate tonight, a major, major way to make a difference in these last 15 days is to make an affordable donation to the campaignyour donation will help fund the final media buys! To contribute online, simply click here. Or, you are welcome to come in and drop off cash or a check at either our Rapid City or Sioux Falls offices (click here for the locations). Chris has been relentless in his efforts throughout this past year and any contribution you make will help the campaign finish just as strongly as Chris has worked during this campaign.

So, encourage friends and family to watch the debate tonight, and if you have any more questions or need any more information, e-mail me at mike@chrislienforcongress.com. We appreciate your support and hope that you will continue working hard during the final 15 days of this campaign. Thanks for everything you are doing and keep up the good work!

West River weekend recap (and videos too!)

Hopefully you all had a chance to enjoy this wonderful weekend weather (although I do fear that my hopes for a warm winter are fading fast). I know that I had a great time out in Rapid City with Chris Lien, and we had a great opportunity to visit plenty of places and meet with plenty of people, which is always a plus.

The weekend started early for us on Thursday night with a stop in Miller for a Meet & Greet on our way back to Rapid City. We got to visit with a sizable crowd and Chris was able to answer some great questions from the people in attendance (dinner was mighty tasty as well, if you ask me).

Then, after arriving in Rapid late Thursday night, Chris was up bright and early on Friday for his Rapid City Journal Editorial Board interview before heading out to Pine Ridge later in the day for a Meet & Greet. In Pine Ridge, we had a chance to speak with outgoing Tribal President Steele and many other members of the Pine Ridge community for a few hours before making a stop at KILI Radio. At KILI, they were nice enough to let Chris jump on the air and say a few words (check below for some behind the scenes footage).

After leaving KILI, we headed home for the night. But the weekend wasn’t over yet. Saturday was a busy day, kicked off by meeting some folks in Hot Springs, then a Meet & Greet at the Republican Party Office in Custer, then ending up in Hill City for yet another Meet & Greet. Although it was a lot of travel, Chris and I had a blast meeting with people in each location. And even though Chris has been all over the West River area a few times, it was my first trip to many of the communities on that side of the state, so it was a particularly fun trip for me.

After the Meet & Greets, it was back to Sioux Falls on Saturday night. What’s next? Well we’ll be preparing for tonight’s SDPB debate (more info here) as well as a few other events here in the Sioux Falls area. Thanks to everyone who hosted and attended the events this weekend and we hope you’ll all tune in for the debates this week.

-Campaign Mike

P.S. - Here's a photo we took while we were outside KILI Radio. Check out that view:
