We here at Chris Lien for Congress would just like to throw out a HUGE thanks to everybody who braved the cold, rainy weather for the KELO pre-debate rally last Friday in Sioux Falls and the KOTA pre-debate rally last night in Rapid City.
--Chris Lien supporters rally before the KELO debate in Sioux Falls last Friday...
Both were a big success and it was awesome to see such strong support for Chris at both locations. We’ve got a photo here as well as videos to watch, so hopefully you enjoy watching them as much as everyone enjoyed being a part of them. As you can tell, Chris was certainly appreciative. While I had the camera off when he walked up to say hello at KELO, his arrival to the “Less Talk, More Action!” chant at KOTA was (clearly) well-received!
If you haven’t seen them yet, check out the KELO debate by clicking here and the KOTA debate by clicking here to see how Chris showed why he is the right choice to bring South Dakota solutions to Washington and fix a broken Congress.
Thanks again, and don't forget to show your support for Chris Lien by voting for him on November 4th!
We just wanted to give a big thanks to all of the College Republicans and other Chris Lien supporters who came to show their enthusiasm for Chris before last night’s SDPB debate in Vermillion. We’ve got a video from the event below and we appreciate everyone who stood around in the cold for half an hour waving Chris Lien signs and shouting after each car honk and beep. We definitely appreciate that and everything else you’ve done and will continue doing up until Election Day!
Hopefully you all had a chance to enjoy this wonderful weekend weather (although I do fear that my hopes for a warm winter are fading fast). I know that I had a great time out in Rapid City with Chris Lien, and we had a great opportunity to visit plenty of places and meet with plenty of people, which is always a plus.
The weekend started early for us on Thursday night with a stop in Miller for a Meet & Greet on our way back to Rapid City. We got to visit with a sizable crowd and Chris was able to answer some great questions from the people in attendance (dinner was mighty tasty as well, if you ask me).
Then, after arriving in Rapid late Thursday night, Chris was up bright and early on Friday for his Rapid City Journal Editorial Board interview before heading out to Pine Ridge later in the day for a Meet & Greet. In Pine Ridge, we had a chance to speak with outgoing Tribal President Steele and many other members of the Pine Ridge community for a few hours before making a stop at KILI Radio. At KILI, they were nice enough to let Chris jump on the air and say a few words (check below for some behind the scenes footage).
After leaving KILI, we headed home for the night. But the weekend wasn’t over yet. Saturday was a busy day, kicked off by meeting some folks in Hot Springs, then a Meet & Greet at the Republican Party Office in Custer, then ending up in Hill City for yet another Meet & Greet. Although it was a lot of travel, Chris and I had a blast meeting with people in each location. And even though Chris has been all over the West River area a few times, it was my first trip to many of the communities on that side of the state, so it was a particularly fun trip for me.
After the Meet & Greets, it was back to Sioux Falls on Saturday night. What’s next? Well we’ll be preparing for tonight’s SDPB debate (more info here) as well as a few other events here in the Sioux Falls area. Thanks to everyone who hosted and attended the events this weekend and we hope you’ll all tune in for the debates this week.

P.S. - Here's a photo we took while we were outside KILI Radio. Check out that view:
Hey everybody! With only 21 days to go until Election Day, we have a great way to keep building the momentum for this campaign! We're going to hold a ribbon-cutting for our Sioux Falls office tomorrow(Thursday) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and we want YOU to be there. Our office is located on the northwest corner of 8th Street and Minnesota Avenue (201 N. Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD). To view a map, click here:
We will be serving refreshments and Chris Lien will be in the office ready to talk to anyone and everyone who stops in. If you haven't had a chance to meet Chris yet, this would be a great opportunity to do so. And if you've already met him, stop in anyway and show him your support.
It'll be an exciting event and the more people who show up to support Chris and this campaign, the better. We're looking forward to seeing you there and if you have ANY questions, e-mail me at mike@chrislienforcongress.com and I will take care of them as quickly as possible.
Well folks, with only 25 days to go, we’ve got a great idea for the day’s 43 Day Plan suggestion. All we’re asking you to do is forward a recent Chris Lien article (or your favorite Campaign Blog post) to 5 friends. Not sure which one is your favorite? Well take a look back through the news section by clicking here or peruse the campaign blog by clicking here and pick the story or post you like the most.
Then, just send it on its way to anyone you feel like sharing it with. You can send it in an e-mail, post it on someone’s Facebook wall or MySpace page, or share it through any other method you can conceive. We’re letting you decide how you want to get the word out, as long as you forward a recent article or blog post to 5 people.
Not sure which story you'd like to share? Well here are a few of my personal favorites:
So pass these stories along (or any other stories you enjoyed) and let others get a better look at Chris Lien.
And while you're here, I just thought I'd let you know that we had a great day at the D-Days parade in Vermillion today and we want to give a big thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who came out to help. I’ll have more for you on that later, but until then, forward those articles and I’ll be back with more soon.
Hey everybody, I know you’ve been trying your best to keep up with our 43 Day Plan (click here if you missed it this morning) and we definitely appreciate your efforts, but I thought I’d fill you in on some other activities from the campaign trail today as well.
Last weekend, the Chris Lien for Congress campaign was enjoying all kinds of homecoming celebrations and parades. With myself and Chris Bohlen at the Augustana College Homecoming Parade and Drew and Chris Lien at the SDSU Hobo Days Parade and football game, the Lien Machine crew was in full force on the Eastern side of the state.
What’s that? You don’t think it’s possible for one campaign to have that much fun in one day? Well, I can prove it. Check out the video below to see the excitement Chris Bohlen and I enjoyed on Saturday morning. Sure it was a little early, but it just meant we had more time to enjoy the day’s festivities.
Chris Lien and Drew also had a good time at SDSU’s Hobo Days, where they walked through the parade with the SDSU College Republican float, talked with tons of folks in the area, and made their way through the tailgate to meet with all the Jackrabbit alumni and fans before the game. Although they didn’t have the good fortune of spending the day with myself and Chris Bohlen, it sounds like they had just as much fun as we did.
**This weekend we’ll celebrate the University of South Dakota’s "Dakota Days" down in Vermillion before gearing up for the last round of debates later in the month. If you’ll be at D-Days and want to walk in the parade or spend some time with the Lien Machine crew during the day, e-mail Chris Bohlen at chris.bohlen@chrislienforcongress.com and he will help you get involved at the events.
While I know how much you’re all enjoying the 43 Day Plan posts we’ve been putting up throughout the last week (and next 37 days), we here at Chris Lien for Congress want to let you in on what else we’ve been up to over the weekend. We had a few parades and events to attend and they were a blast. Don’t believe me? Read up (and watch the videos) and you’ll see I'm not kidding.
On Friday, Drew and I kicked off another early weekend at the West Central Homecoming Parade in Hartford. The parade was awesome, with tons of kids lining the streets and tons of candy to toss out to them (courtesy of District 9 State House candidate Deb Peters). We also got to pull her sign-covered trailer with the Lien Machine, making for a stellar parade vehicle collaboration. I could keep on rambling, but it might just be easier to let you watch the parade video we shot throughout the day. Check out the clips below!
But the West Central Homecoming Parade wasn’t the only parade on the agenda for the weekend! We also headed out to Madison for the Dakota State University Trojan Days Parade. Chris and Hugh joined us for that parade and with Hugh at the wheel, Chris greeting people along the parade route, and Drew and I mastering our candy-tossing skills, I’d say the parade was quite a success. Hopefully everybody there enjoyed it as much as we did.
From there, Drew, Chris, and I made the always-pleasant drive to Huron for a Meet and Greet that coincided with the South Dakota Federation of Republican Women’s state convention. I’d say the Meet and Greet went as well as we could have asked, and we’ll have plenty of pictures from the event displayed at the end of this post. We’d love to thank everybody who helped with and attended the event and stuck around to hear Chris speak at the Republican Women’s dinner.
Although we took a break to catch our breath on Sunday, we’re back on the grind again today, and I’ll fill you in with the details as we go. Want to know what else you can do to help? Check out the Chris Lien for Congress 43 Day Plan by clicking here and you’ll find plenty of activities to help make Chris’s journey to Congress a successful one!
Don’t forget about the pictures from the dinner and Meet and Greet below, and check back soon for more campaign information!
